A scannable resume is a paper resume that is likely to be scanned by the employer into an automated applicant tracking system (a resume database). Since a scannable resume starts out in paper form, and may be reviewed in paper form in addition to being scanned, it differs from an ASCII resume in that it is more presentable and easier to read with proportional fonts.
Keyword scannable resumes are modified to help scanners read resumes accurately—stylized text and graphics are removed, and the page is designed to scan correctly. Once in an automated applicant tracking system, your resume must first successfully pass through computer-based screening before it is seen by a human reviewer; therefore, it is essential that your resume be optimized for computer selection with keywords. Keywords are typically nouns but may also include verbs that reflect skills and experience sought by a potential employer. In addition to placing keywords relevant to your field throughout your scannable resume and cover letter, we will create an extra "Keyword Summary" near the top of your scannable resume specifically for a resume search engine.
Your scannable resume will be dynamically written and professionally developed to rank well in automated applicant tracking systems and subsequently generate a positive and enthusiastic response from a human reviewer.
Your scannable resume is prepared in a word processor file format, typically MS Word, but you may select another word processor format.
